About
Largely self taught, I came to a career in painting following a BA(Hons) degree in Art History at UEA (1988) and a postgraduate diploma training in Art Therapy at Hertfordshire College of Art and Design (1990).
I have two distinct lines of work, charcoal life studies and acrylic paintings. Drawing directly from the figure is the discipline at the heart of my practice. I have been a member of, and exhibited with, the Star Group in Lewes since 2013.
My acrylic paintings are layered on gessoed board, canvas or wood panels, and are often embellished with further drawing, fixed with an acrylic matt or gel medium.
I am drawn to personal themes; motherhood, home and family; love, intimacy and connection.
